What was the first website ever created?
On August 6, 1991, the world's first website went live. It was created by British physicist Tim Berners-Lee while working at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research.
The website consisted of a simple page of text with a few links, and it was designed to help CERN scientists share information. Today, the website is still operational and can be viewed at http://info.cern.ch/. The website was simply a page of text that explained what the World Wide Web was and how it worked. There were no pictures, no videos, and no links to other websites. In fact, there were no other websites yet! While it may not look like much by today's standards, it is a reminder of the power of the internet to connect people and share information.
Today, of course, the World Wide Web is a vast and complex network of billions of websites, and it's hard to imagine a world without it. But it all started with a single page of text written by Tim Berners-Lee.
