If you've ever wondered what would happen if you fired a gun straight up into the air, you're not alone. It's a common question, and luckily there are plenty of experts who have done the research so that we don't have to.

While the answer may seem obvious - the bullet will come back down and could potentially injure someone - it's actually a bit more complicated than that. The truth is, firing a gun straight up into the air is actually pretty dangerous and should be avoided if at all possible. Here's why: when a bullet is fired into the air, it doesn't just travel straight up and then straight back down again. Instead, it follows a curved trajectory, meaning that it will eventually come back down but not necessarily in the same spot that it was fired from. This means that there's a very real danger of the bullet hitting someone or something on its way back down, which could obviously cause serious injury or even death.
