How does a boomerang come back when you throw it?
Boomerangs are truly astonishing contraptions, able to come back after being thrown despite having only one side with an aerodynamic shape.
The shape of the boomerang when thrown is crucial for it to be able to return to its original spot. On its travel away from the Thrower, air splits on either sides of the lopsided boomerang, thus creating lift similar to the way an airplane wing functions. All of this happens quickly and as soon as the boomerang has reached a certain altitude, it begins curving towards its Thrower due to gravity and drag.
