Does the Game of Thrones take place on Earth?

The Game of Thrones (and now House of The Dragon) is a television series that has captivated audiences for years. The show is set in the fictional continent of Westeros, which many fans believe is based on Earth. However, there is evidence to suggest that the show actually takes place on a planet called Essos.

For one thing, the geography of Westeros bears little resemblance to that of Earth. Furthermore, the technology and architecture seen in the show are more advanced than anything found on our planet at the relative same time frame. Finally, the creatures that inhabit Westeros, such as dragons and White Walkers, are not found on Earth. So while it is fun to speculate about the connection between the Game of Thrones and our world, it seems unlikely that the two are actually connected.
